Galin Berrier, author of several historical articles on the Underground Railroad in Iowa, will speak at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, at the Fort Dodge Public Library. The lecture is the first history program sponsored by the Fort Dodge Chapter of the African American Historical Museum and Cultural Center of Iowa. Nestle-Purina has provided support. The event is free and open to the public.
Galin Berrier will share stories he has discovered of instances of the Underground Railroad throughout Iowa. Berrier shares both published accounts and a large amount of primary research. His articles have appeared in several publications, including the Iowa African American history compendium Outside In.
