Event Description:

Battter up!  Join this recreation-designed program to teach youth the fundamentals of softball/baseball while progressively developing their skills. This is a great program for children wanting to learn softball or baseball skills as well as those who need to refine their abilities.  Teams are compiled according to school and led by volunteer coaches.  Practices may start on May 8th with games starting on June 5th.  Any adults interested in coaching may call FD Parks & Recreation at 576-7237.

Leagues: 

Boys and girls completing grades 1^st & 2^nd play instructional ball.  The tee is used for those needing hitting assistance, while those capable may hit from a staff pitcher.  Ten players on the field, 11" softball used, co-ed teams, 10 game schedule. 

Girls completing grades 3^rd & 4^th play structured fast pitch.  Team pitcher is developed while using staff pitcher.  Ten players on the field, 11" softball used, 10 game schedule. 

Girls completing grades 5^th and 6^th play fast pitch.  Nine players on the field, 12" softball used, 10 schedule.
