Playground Structures
The City of Fort Dodge, Parks and Recreation Department, has added several new play structures throughout the city. Please check out these fun and free physical activity places for your children, but follow all the posted rules and precautions.  


Not all playgrounds are suitable for all ages. Please read the safety guidelines at each facility and as always, adult supervision is necessary for a safe experience.

 
Reynolds Park - Installed Summer of 2015, this innovative and fun "Rocks & Ropes" natural play system allows children to climb, imagine and move while still providing a safe surround.
Recommended ages: 5-12
Hydro-Electric Park - Installed Summer 2012, this play structure is equipped with two play components.  The first is an upper body, climbing "monkey bar" system.  The second component contains swings and triple slide. 
Recommended ages: 5-12

Harlan Rogers Sports Complex
- Installed Summer 2011, this play structure is a smaller system but provides a positive energy burner for the younger siblings while big brother or sister are playing baseball/softball on one of the Mini Major fields. 
Recommended ages: 5-12

Snell-Crawford Park - Installed Spring 2011, this play structure is a two-leveled piece of equipment with multiple entry points of different abilities and many slides to get down to the ground. 
Recommended ages: 5-12

Loomis Park - Installed Fall 2010, this play structure over looks the Des Moines River and offers the tallest play system offered.  It also has a large tube slide, climbing apparatus, game features, and much more.
Recommended ages: 5-12

Schmoker Family Park (Rosedale Rapids) - Installed Summer 2010, this playground has a variety of activities from swings, spinners, teeter-totter, all the way to the play structures that work for a wide age of children.
Recommended ages: 2-5 & 5-12 (Two separate components)

Oleson Park - Installed Fall 2006, this play structure is built to work on a child's core strength (abdominals) and upper body strength, using many climbing and balancing systems. 
Recommended ages: 2-5 & 5-12 (Two separate components)

Hawley Lions Park - Installed Spring of 2000, this play system has ramps, bridges, slides and climbers all nestled into the friendly confines of old Hawley School.
Recommended ages: 5-12
