Water Meter Replacement Project

City of Fort Dodge Water Meter Replacement Project

Ferguson Waterworks has been hired by the City of Fort Dodge to implement a turn-key Water Meter Replacement and Fixed Network Reading System. The Meter Project will begin the week of July 10th with residents receiving letters prior to that date to set up appointments for the work to take place. Main points for our Citizens:

1. Ferguson Reps will be doing all the work, they will have I.D. badges uniforms and have been approved by City Staff;
2. They will need access to the water meter for replacement and install a new reading unit on the home/ building. Process will take approx. 1 hour;
3. This will involve all water service customers including Savage Addition and Coleman Addition;
4.The Meter Replacement and reading unit installation will not cost the customer;
5. This is a REQUIRED replacement by the City of Fort Dodge;
6. Letters will be sent out to each customer in the present work area as shown in timeline map, asking for you to schedule an appointment with Ferguson Waterworks. Click here for timeline map;

Things citizens can do to help this project run smoothly:
1. Respond promptly to the notification letters to schedule a install time with Ferguson Waterworks;
2. Make sure your water meter is accessible and free from debris or clutter;
3. Have an operating meter valve to allow for shut down of water and a quick meter replacement;
