The discharge of consumer fireworks is allowed ONLY during the following dates and hours:
- July 1st & 2nd from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- July 3rd & 4th from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- December 31st at 5 p.m. thru January 1st at 12:30 a.m.
The following rules apply to the discharge of consumer fireworks:
- No person under the age of 18 is allowed to possess or discharge consumer fireworks without parental supervision.
- Use of consumer fireworks on property other than that person’s property is prohibited.
- Consumer fireworks are not to be discharged in any park, public lands, buildings, streets, or right-of-way without a permit from the City of Fort Dodge.
The first violation of rules outlined above will result in a $500 fine (plus fees).
Any person found to be in violation after their first civil infraction will be fined $750 (plus fees).
