Where is the police department located in Fort Dodge?
The Police Department is located in the Webster County Law Enforcement Center, 702 1st Avenue South, in downtown Fort Dodge.
Is it possible to have an officer talk to our neighborhood group about crime prevention?
Yes! To make an appointment, please call the Fort Dodge Police Department at 515-573-1424. In addition we have a variety of additional topics that can be presented to small and large groups.
How do I apply to be a police officer?
Submit your application and resume to the City of Fort Dodge Human Resources Department. Candidates who are not currently Iowa certified law enforcement officers will take a physical agility test administered by the City of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Civil Service Commission. For those passing the physical agility test, a written Police Officer Selection Test (POST) will be given immediately afterwards. Candidates who are currently an Iowa certified law enforcement officer need only be present for the written POST
