Saddles, wreaths, floral arrangements (even those in permanent bases)
Weathered American flags
Non-compliant decorations such as ornaments, toys, signs, garden flags and holders
Wind spinners and non-integral vases or statues
If you would like to keep any items, please remove them before Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Starting Tuesday, October 7, 2025, fall and winter decorations will be permitted again. REMINDER! In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the City of Fort Dodge s garbage routes will be adjusted as follows:
• Garbage collection scheduled for Monday, September 1, 2025, will be moved to Tuesday, September 2.
• Garbage collection scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, will be moved to Thursday, September 4.
• Recycling collection scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, 2025, will follow the regular schedule.
• Garbage collection scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 2025, will be moved to Friday, September 5.
Residents are asked to place their garbage and recycling carts at the curb by 5:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection dates. Please note that due to the holiday schedule, no return trips will be made for missed collections. Carts placed out after 5:00 a.m. will not be collected until the following week.
