Decorations are welcome starting 3 days before Memorial Day, allowing you to prepare and honor your loved ones. To maintain the beauty and dignity of our cemeteries, please note that decorations will be respectfully removed and disposed of 7 days after Memorial Day.

REMINDER! Junk Days on Demand follows the sanitation schedule next week. Please use your regular garbage day when scheduling, but put your items curbside on the following days. Do not put your items curbside earlier than 5:00 pm the night before collection.
In recognition of the Memorial Day holiday, the City of Fort Dodge s garbage routes will be adjusted as follows:
• Garbage collection scheduled for Monday, May 26, 2025, will be moved to Tuesday, May 27.
• Garbage collection scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, will be moved to Thursday, May 29.
• Recycling collection scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, will follow the regular schedule.
• Garbage collection scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2025, will be moved to Friday, May 30.
Residents are asked to place their garbage and recycling carts at the curb by 5:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection dates. Please note that due to the holiday schedule, no return trips will be made for missed collections. Carts placed out after 5:00 a.m. will not be collected until the following week.
YARD WASTE ADJUSTMENTS:
• The Central Maintenance Facility will be CLOSED on Monday, May 26, 2025.
• Curbside yard waste will NOT be picked up on Friday, May 30, 2025.
JUNK DAYS ON DEMAND ADJUSTMENTS:
• Junk Days on Demand collection scheduled for Monday, May 26, 2025, will be moved to Tuesday, May 27.
• Junk Days on Demand collection scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, will be moved to Thursday, May 29.
• Junk Days on Demand collection scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2025, will be moved to Friday, May 30.
This is the same schedule as the garbage collection.

Okay, we get it – you've been begging, pleading, and stalking our Facebook page, waiting for Junk Days to return, and the wait is finally OVER!
Starting immediately, you can once again schedule bulk pick-up on your garbage day. That couch you've been lovingly avoiding? The mattress you've been hoping will disappear? Yep, we're taking it all – as long as it's junk (and not your entire garage, sorry). COLLECTION BEGINS MONDAY, MAY 19, 2025
Here's how it works:
1 Text "JUNK" to (515) 408-9888
2 Follow the prompts, get your pick-up scheduled
3 Have your items out by 5 AM (but don't go putting it all out a week early, okay?)
NO EXCEPTIONS on what we won t take: Garbage bags, yard waste, hazardous materials, concrete – you know the drill.
