Parking Enforcement

The Fort Dodge Police Department Parking Division is comprised of the Division Commander - Captain Quintin Nelson and  two part time Parking Enforcement Officers. They are responsible for all on street and parking lot enforcement.

On street parking is timed parking with most spaces allowing either one hour or two hour parking. Most parking lots owned by the City are controlled by parking meters but a monthly parking permit may be obtained from the City Treasury Office, First Floor, Municipal Building, 819 1st Avenue South, Fort Dodge, Iowa, 515-576-4551.

Parking fines are set at $15.00.  Fines not paid within 30 days may result in the issuance of an arrest warrant.

Parking tickets may be appealed through the office of the Chief of Police. If the decision made there doesn't satisfy you, the ticket may be appealed through the court. You must file the appeal within 3 days of recieving the ticket.  Appeal forms can be piced up at the Fort Dodge Treasure Department, Fort Dodge Police Department, or by clicking the link below.
