Parking Enforcement

The Fort Dodge Police Department Parking Division is overseen by Captain Quintin Nelson and consists of two part-time Parking Enforcement Officers. They are responsible for all on-street and City-owned parking lot enforcement.

On-street parking is timed, with most spaces allowing either one-hour or two-hour parking. Most parking lots owned by the City are controlled by parking meters, but a monthly parking permit may be obtained from the City Treasurer's Office, First Floor, Municipal Building, 819 1st Avenue South, Fort Dodge, Iowa, 515-576-4551. Parking fines are set at $15.00.

Parking tickets may be appealed through the Captain of this division. If your appeal is denied and you wish to further appeal the ticket, you may do so through the court system. You must file the appeal within 3 days of receiving the ticket.  Appeal forms can be picked up at the Fort Dodge Treasurer's Office, the Fort Dodge Police Department, or by clicking the link below.
