Criminal Investigations Division

crime

The Fort Dodge Police Department's Criminal Investigation's Division is comprised of the Division Commander Captain Dennis Quinn, one lieutenant, one sergeant, four detectives, and one evidence custodian.

Their responsibilities include following up on major cases like murders, sexual assaults, narcotics, internet crimes against children, and arson. They are also the lead investigators on complex investigations that are beyond the scope, time constraints, and experience of our dedicated Patrol Division staff.  Additionally, our two School/Community Resource Officers work within this division.

In addition to their experience, each detective has special training in evidence collection, interview and interrogation techniques, and crime scene investigations that help them to effectively resolve the complex cases they are assigned.
